    El término bias es un término-problema en Organización del Conocimiento, principalmente por la falta de una definición clara del mismo. En la literatura del área se pueden encontrar tres aspectos del mismo, bias con carga neutra o bias neutro, bias con carga positiva o bias positivo y bias con carga negativa o bias negativo.

    El bias neutro representa una inclinación o punto de vista y responde a operaciones dentro de la Teoría Facetada de S.R. Ranganathan. En este alcance se estudiarán los términos auto-bias device y bias relation y la familia de términos que los incluyen. Por otra parte se encuentran el bias positivo y el bias negativo. Ambos mantienen un fondo semántico común, reflejan aspectos ideológicos y culturales, pero con enfoques diferentes. Mientras el primero, en su mayoría es creado de forma intencional para representar las necesidades de información de un sector cultural o ideológico;

    el segundo se crea involuntariamente y se manifiesta a través de visiones ofensivas o inadecuadas. El presente trabajo se propone delimitar estos diferentes alcances.

    The term bias is a problem term in Knowledge Organization, mainly by the lack of a clear definition. In the literature of the area, it is possible to find three aspects, bias with neutral charged or neutral bias, bias with positively charged or positive bias, bias with negatively charged or negative bias. The neutral bias represents an inclination or point of view and it is an operation in the S.R. Ranganathan’s Facet Theory. In this approach will be studied the terms auto-bias device and bias relation and their family terms. On the other hand, it is possible to find the positive bias and the negative bias. Both, with the same semantic background, reflecting ideological and cultural aspects, but with different approaches. While the first is mostly created to represent the information needs of a cultural or ideological sector; the second is unwittingly created and it is manifested through visions offensive or inappropriate. This paper will attempt to define these different scopes
