Interpretamos tres odas pindáricas que incluyen cierto relato sobre la fundación de Cirene:
P. 9, P. 4 y P. 5. Teniendo en cuenta los problemas formales de cada una de las odas, así como el hecho de que un poema mélico no es por de pronto género narrativo, planteamos que el contenido esencial de los relatos de estas odas no es otro que el originarse la pólis en un movimiento de ruptura cuya figura poética es, por un lado, la destrucción del bosque, a veces asociado con una diosa o ninfa epónima, y, por otro, la tierra sin arraigo, la isla.
Hacemos asimismo observaciones en torno al problema de en qué consiste aquí exactamente el «fundar» y la «fundación», prestando atención a las dificultades de comprensión que este acto supone para el lector moderno.
The aim of this paper is to outline an interpretation of three Pindaric Odes about the foundation of Kyrene: P. 9, P. 4 and P. 5. Taking into account some particular formal problems of these three odes as well as the general fact that a melic poem is in no obvious way a narrative genre, we consider that the essential content of these odes is the polis as it results from, first, the conquer of the woods and the destruction of the goddess or the virgin girl that inhabits it, and, second, an uprooting movement that crystallizes in the figure of the island, i.e. the land that is no land but wanders always in the sea. Finally we make some remarks about the founding act itself, paying attention to the assumptions that make this act difficult to understand for the modern reader
