A través de este artículo, nos proponemos acercarles a los alumnos de Primaria la impresionante herencia artística que Edgar Allan Poe dejó y que llega a reflejarse en muy diversos ámbitos: desde la propia literatura hasta la música, el cine, la televisión y el cómic. Como ya señalara el autor argentino Jorge Luis Borges en el prólogo correspondiente a Poe de su Biblioteca Personal (1988), "la literatura actual es inconcebible sin Whitman y sin Poe". Es por ello que creemos necesario que los alumnos de Primaria debieran conocer el legado de este escritor, cuya repercusión es inabarcable, ejerciendo hoy día una enorme influencia en diferentes campos artísticos.
In this article, we would like to approach Primary students to the impressive artistic heritage left by Edgar Allan Poe, which is reflected in many different fields: from literature itself to music, cinema, television and comic. As the Argentinean author Jorge Luis Borges stated in the prologue referred to Poe from his Biblioteca Personal (1988), “modern literature cannot be conceived without Whitman and without Poe”. This is the reason why we believe that it is necessary for Primary students to be aware of the legacy of this writer, whose repercussion is boundless, exerting a huge influence on various artistic fields nowadays
