  • The article examines the relationship between politics and soccer, in light of the defeat of Brazil in the 2014 World Cup. Topics covered include the factors that influence the average voter, the political impact of the attitude of Brazilians towards their World Cup loss, and the use of the soccer by opposition leaders to draw both national and international attention to their cause.
