  • The author resumes a recent conference devoted to SBN – Servizio bibliotecario nazionale, the Italian libraries network promoted by the General Direction for Library Heritage and Cultural Institutes that gathers about 4.900 libraries all over the country and offers the most important national online catalogue (OPAC SBN). The author takes also the occasion to propose some considerations on the future perspectives of this institution in the “digital age”.
