The article describes the new public library of Mortara, a small town near Pavia. The new library offers not only traditional services (loan of books and other documents), but also some IPad, e-book readers, spaces for courses and cultural events, a cafeteria too.
The author, in particular, underlines that the municipality chose to create a modern and well-equipped library in spite of the present public budget cuts, convinced that cultural investments should be strengthened just in a period of economic crisis.
