O porto de Salvador é um importante espaço para o escoamento da produção local e regional, sendo responsável pela movimentação dos fluxos de importação e exportação de muitos produtos. Cerca de 31% de toda movimentação de carga realizada via terminais marítimos no Estado da Bahia é realizada pelo porto de Salvador. Desta forma, este artigo objetiva analisar a atual organização e dinâmica do porto de Salvador, a partir do entendimento de sua inserção nos cenários local e regional, como também de suas respectivas funções e problemas. Portanto, o porto de Salvador representa um importante ponto estratégico que contribui para a economia e para o desenvolvimento da Região de Salvador.
The port of Salvador is an important site for the disposal of local and regional production and is responsible for handling the flow of imports and exports of many goods. About 31% of all cargo handling performed via marine terminals in the State of Bahia is performed through the port of Salvador. Therefore, this article aims to analyze the current organization and dynamics of the port of Salvador, from the understanding of its participation in local and regional scenarios, as well as their functions and problems. Thus, the port of Salvador is an important strategic point that contributes to the economy and to the development of the Region of Salvador.
