Nuestra contribución titulada "La fábrica del monasterio de San Salvador de Oña: épocas medieval y moderna", busca presentar el estado de la cuestión sobre la evolución de la fábrica monástica desde sus orígenes hasta la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII. La presente aproximación parte de la planta hipotética de un monasterio de tradición hispánica, que bien pudiera haber sido la de San Salvador de Oña. A partir de aquí, a través de la arqueología y de la documentación, hemos reconstruido la evolución de las construcciones monásticas entre los siglos XI y XVIII. Al mismo tiempo hemos elaborado unos croquis que quieren ser el aporte gráfico que complete esta sucinta y primera aproximación a las edificaciones monásticas. Este breve artículo quiere ser un complemento a los demás que conforman este número monográfico dedicado a este monasterio al cumplirse los mil años de su fundación.
Our contribution entitled "The construction of the monastery of San Salvador de Oña: medieval and modern times," looks to present the current position of the discussion on the evolution of monastic construction from its origins through to the second half of the eighteenth century. This article starts by looking at the hypothetical construction of a monastery in the Hispanic tradition, which could well have been that of San Salvador de Oña. From here, through archeology and historic texts, we have reconstructed the evolution of monastic buildings between the eleventh and eighteenth centuries. At the same time we have developed a plan of the monastery as a visual guide and which completes this first, succinct discussion about these monastic buildings. This brief article complements the others that make up this special issue dedicated to the monastery, a thousand years after its founding.
