El objetivo del presente trabajo es analizar la utilidad de las herramientas de gestión y cómo el Cuadro de Mando Integral ayuda a la Autoridad Portuaria de Valencia a asentar la puesta en marcha de su Plan Estratégico. En el artículo se expone cómo una Autoridad Portuaria puede conseguir el cumplimiento de determinados objetivos estratégicos y operativos relacionados con la eficiencia y eficacia en las operaciones de los servicios portuarios prestados, apoyándose en materia de recursos humanos en el modelo de Gestión por Competencias; y desarrollando la Gestión por Procesos con objeto de cumplir los objetivos previstos en su Plan Estratégico.
The aim of this article is to analyse how, by applying the method in question, the Port Authority of Valencia has managed to put into action its strategy plan using a Balanced Scorecard. The article sets out how a Port Authority is capable of achieving specific strategic and operational objectives regarding the efficiency and effectiveness of the operations for the services that it offers. This is aided by the Competency Management system for human resources and by developing the Business Process Management with the aim of fulfilling the previously established objectives of the Strategy Plan.
