COLL I ALENTORN] L'Europa d'entreguerres apareix com una època en la qual els esdeveniments de caire politic se succeeixen amb una rapidesa gairebé vertiginosa: la invasió de les forces soviètiques a l'Europa central, l'assassinat de Rathenau, les lluites a Irlanda, les revolucions a Bulgaria, la guerra entre Grècia i Turquia, el comunisme terrorista i el feixisme a Itàlia en són només uns quants exemples. L'article, escrit per un jove Miguel Coll i Alentorn, té un indubtable valor històric i adverteix, d'una banda, deis excessos inqualificables del comunisme i, de l'altra, de les continues depredacions de la democracia representativa per part dels incipients moviments feixistes del període d'entreguerres.
Some considerations on a post-War ideology [MIQUEL COLL I ALENTORN] Europe between the Wars was an epoch in which political changes took place at virtually breakneck speed: the invasion of Central Europe by Soviet troops, the assassination of Rathenau, the struggle in Ireland, the revolutions in Bulgaria, the war between Greece and Turkey, terrorist communism and fascism in Italy are but some examples. This article by Miguel Coll i Alentorn, published in September 1924, is one of the first references to Christian Democracy in our country.
In the wake of the controversy engendered by Mussolini's government, Miguel Coll analyses the political situation before the rise of fascism and the appearance of the latter, while also proposing some solutions for the delicate situation of Italy at that time. If fascism had simply set out to return faith and enthusiasm and had legally occupied the government of the State, it would have been bringing about solid and long-lasting work. Miguel Coll expounds how the impassioned doctrine of violence of Maurras and the Action Française was the ideology adopted by the movement's leaders, which led Italy to the deplorable panorama of the destruction of Democracy and to bulldoze dark paths that led to the exaltation of destruction. The article, written by a young Miguel Coll i Alentorn, has an undoubted historic value, warning, on the one hand, of the indescribable excesses of communism and on the other of the ongoing depredation of representative democracy by the incipient fascist movements of the period between the Wars.
