La confluència d'interessos en els processos politics internacionals::
el cas de la Unió Europea [ ROMAN CASTRO I ALCAIDE] Tal i com planteja l'autor, en molts aspectes el procés d'integració europea ha estat presidit pels interessos nacionals. Des de les corrents teòriques realistes, neofuncionalistes o federalistes, es considera que nomès la perspectiva d'una balança inclinada cap als beneficis (economics, de seguretat, prestigi, o uns altres) ès la variable que dóna el recolzament inicial per a formar part d'aquests processos d'integració. Des d'aquesta perspectiva, el Dr. Castro creu que la gran majoria de països del continent europeu, tret d'algunes excepciona, han estat atrets pel projecte comunitari pels guanys que provoca. Caigut el mur de Berlín, els països de l'Europa central i oriental tambè han presentant les seves candidatures a la integració europea. Per altra banda, l'autor considera que determinats ideals i elements cohesionadors, com ara la pau, la prosperitat i la seguretat, actuen, d'una manera determinant, com a catalitzadors en els processos de construcció europea.
The confluence of interests in international political processes:
the case of the European Union As the author sees it, in many regards the process of European integration has been presided by national interests. From the realist, neo-functionalist or federalist theoretical trends it is believed that only the perspective of a balance tilted towards benefits, or profit (economic, security, prestige or others) is the variable that provides the initial support for joining these integration processes. From this standpoint, Dr. Castro believes that most European countries, with certain exceptions, have been attracted by the Community project by what they stand to gain from it. Following the disappearance of the Berlin Wall, the countries of central and eastern Europe have also sought to become part of European integration. Moreover, the author considers that certain ideals and elements of cohesion, such as peace, prosperity and security, act, in a determined fashion, as catalysts in the processes of the building of Europe.
