Ante la advertencia de que las reservas mundiales de combustibles sólidos se agotarán dentro del presente siglo, se está investigando sobre nuevas fuentes de energía, lo más ecológicas posible. Sin embargo, aunque la utilización de las energías renovables será técnica y económicamente viable, no se conoce exactamente lo que va a suponer su implantación en nuestros edificios desde el punto de vista espacial, constructivo y estructural. Este artículo es un intento de aproximación a los problemas que va a causar incorporación de una de esas tecnologías ¿ las pilas de combustible ¿ a nuestros edificios.
In the face of the warning that the World¿s fuel reserves will be spent this century, research is being done on new ecological sources of energy. Nevertheless, even though the use of renewable energy will be technically and economically possible, there is no knowledge as to what the consequences of its introduction in our buildings will be in terms of structural and building space. This article tries to be an approach to the problems that the incorporation of one of these energy sources, that of fuel cells, will cause on our buildings.
