Programa Officina tiene por objeto el estudio de las UPC (unidades de producción cerámica) en su contexto socieconómico y tecnológico. El programa abarca el territorio peninsular e insular y utiliza como unidad de trabajo la cuenca hidrográfica, dividiendo el territorio en doce sectores y cinco grupos. Metodológicamente, la detección, localización y definición de talleres ha permitido hasta la fecha el inventario de 800 UPC, las cuales son estudiadas en su contexto natural e históricoarqueológico, enfatizando el aspecto económico a través del análisis del "área de influencia inmediata". En paralelo, los subproyectos "Fornax" y "Sigillum" y la incorporación de las fuentes históricas empiezan a configurar un panorama complejo y distinto de la industria cerámica y su posición en el tejido económico de la Hispania romana.
The aim of the Office Programme is the research of the CPUs (Ceramic Production Units) in their social-economic and technological context. The program includes the insular and peninsular territory and uses the hydrographic deep valley as a unit of work, dividing the territory into twelve sectors and five groups. Methodologically, the detection, location and definition of the different workshps have so far allowed the inventory of 800 CPUs, which have been analysed in their natural and historical-archeological context. The economical aspect has been stressed through the analysis of the "Area of Immediate Influence". At the same time the "Fornax" and "Sigillum" sub-projects and the inclusion of the historical sources begin to form a different and complex view of the ceramic industry and its position in the economical aspect of the Roman Hispania.
