This paper analyzes the evolution of the legal treatment of peace in international law from the 1945 Charter of the United Nations to the 2024 Pact for the Future. Using a legal-doctrinal and critical-analytical methodology, it examines the main normative instruments adopted within the UN framework and the structural limitations that affect their effectiveness. The study argues that, despite the progressive development of norms and initiatives aimed at peace, the decentrali zed structure of the international system, power asymmetries, and the limited coercive capacity of international law continue to hinder its effective implementation.
