The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of different concentrations of crude oil (CO) in soil and growth duration on the morphological and productive parameters ofPaspalum fasciculatum. A completely randomized design with a 4 × 4 factorial arrangement was used, considering four CO doses (0, 20, 40, and 60 g kg-1of soil) and four growth periods (15, 30, 45, and 60 days). For variables with significant interaction, mean comparisons were performed using the SLICE option of PROC MIXED. A significant interaction between CO dose and growth duration was found for plant height, leaf area, aboveground biomass, dry matter (DM), and growth rate (GR). The best productive response was observed with 20 g kg-1of CO at 60 days, with greater plant height (81.00 cm), leaf area (499.70 cm2plant-1), and aboveground biomass (3.66 g DM plant-1). The highest aboveground DM was recorded with 60 g kg-1of CO at 60 days (26.03%), whereas the highest GR was obtained with 20 g kg-1at 15 days (2.67 cm d-1). Basal diameter and leaf area expansion were greater with 0 and 20 g kg-1of CO. It is concluded thatP. fasciculatumshows adaptation and growth in clay soils contaminated with CO, mainly at 20 g kg-1.
