El Humedal Abras de Mantequilla es considerado el ecosistema más importante dentro del cantón Vinces por su gran diversidad en flora y fauna. El objetivo de esta investigación fue caracterizar los sistemas de producción agrícola en el Humedal Abras de Mantequilla. Se utilizó el método de investigación descriptivo, para lo cual se encuestaron a 81 agricultores. La información se obtuvo mediante encuestas a 40 variables que incluyó preguntas orientadas a obtener información sociocultural, económica y ecológica. Se utilizó como técnicas de recolección de datos, la encuesta, entrevistas y observaciones directas en campo. Para realizar los conglomerados se seleccionaron 30 variables con alto poder discriminante. Como resultados se identificaron tres grupos de sistemas: sistema de producción avanzado, sistema de producción medianamente avanzado y el sistema de producción básica. Se puede concluir que la mayor parte de los agricultores están involucrados en la actividad agrícolas y sus principales cultivos que siembran son maíz, arroz y cacao.
The Abras de Mantequilla Wetland is considered the most important ecosystem in the Vinces canton due to its great diversity of flora and fauna. The objective of this research was to characterize the agricultural production systems in the Abras de Mantequilla Wetland. The descriptive research method was used, for which 81 farmers were surveyed. The information was obtained through surveys of 40 variables that included questions oriented to obtain sociocultural, economic and ecological information. The data collection techniques used were surveys, interviews and direct field observations. Thirty variables with high discriminating power were selected for clustering. As results, three groups of systems were identified: advanced production system, moderately advanced production system and basic production system. It can be concluded that most of the farmers are involved in agricultural activities and their main crops are maize, rice and cocoa.
