This study aims to determine the relationship between the dentist and the patient during the COVID-19 pandemic. To achieve this, the PRISMA declaration method was applied, conducting searches on the Scopus, EBSCO, and ProQuest platforms during the period between 2018 and 2021. An initial finding of 97 studies was obtained, from which 10 studies were finally selected and analyzed in depth, prioritizing three indicators: response capacity, reliability, and biosafety. The inclusion criteria considered scientific articles, undergraduate or postgraduate theses, and case studies, with patient satisfaction in dental consultations during the COVID-19 pandemic serving as the basic guideline for the search. The exclusion criteria consisted of incomplete research studies. It is concluded that, in terms of response capacity, dentists demonstrated significant adaptability and assurance in meeting new health demands. Regarding reliability, it was found that biosafety protocols and the professionals' willingness to attend to emergencies were key factors that strengthened patients' sense of safety and trust. As for biosafety, the strict use of personal protective equipment, ongoing disinfection, and the adaptation of facilities to maintain social distancing helped protect both patients and professionals. In summary, the dentist-patient relationship during the pandemic was characterized by an adaptive process that ensured the continued provision of services in a safe and reliable manner.
