En el estudio sobre la bioactividad de polisacáridos en el tratamiento de pacientes con cáncer, se abordó el potencial terapéutico del hongo Trametes Versicolor. El presente artículo tenía como objetivo principal analizar los efectos curativos para el tratamiento y control de la sintomatología propia del cáncer en sus diversas tipologías. Para ello, se ejecutó una revisión sistemática de la literatura científica publicada entre los años 2000 y 2023 a través de la metodología PRISMA, la misma que involucró la búsqueda de documentos en diversos gestores bibliográficos en base a los criterios de inclusión y exclusión de información. Los materiales y métodos empleados para la revisión literaria incluyen bases de datos como NCBI Pubmed, Scopus y Web of Science además, se utilizó términos booleanos o palabras clave las cuales tenían relación con el tema de estudio para seleccionar artículos que abordaran de manera específica el tratamiento del cáncer con derivados de Trametes Versicolor. Los resultados obtenidos revelaron que los polisacáridos de Trametes Versicolor mostraron una notable actividad anticancerígena, con capacidad para inhibir la proliferación celular y promover la apoptosis en diferentes tipos de cáncer. Como conclusión del artículo, se presenta que Trametes Versicolor al ser una medicina ancestral proveniente de Japón podría representar una opción terapéutica prometedora en el tratamiento de los distintos tipos de cáncer, ofreciendo una alternativa natural y efectiva que permite mejorar la calidad de vida de los pacientes a la par que reduce la incidencia de los efectos secundarios propios de la quimioterapia y radioterapia.
In the study on the bioactivity of polysaccharides in the treatment of cancer patients, the therapeutic potential of the fungus Trametes Versicolor was addressed. The main objective of this article was to analyze the curative effects for the treatment and control of the symptomatology of cancer in its different typologies. For this purpose, a systematic review of the scientific literature published between 2000 and 2023 was carried out through the PRISMA methodology, which involved the search of documents in different bibliographic managers based on the criteria of inclusion and exclusion of information. The materials and methods used for the literature review included databases such as NCBI Pubmed, Scopus and Web of Science. In addition, Boolean terms or keywords related to the topic of study were used to select articles that specifically addressed the treatment of cancer with Trametes Versicolor derivatives. The results obtained revealed that. The results obtained revealed that Trametes Versicolor polysaccharides showed a remarkable anticancer activity, with the ability to inhibit cell proliferation and promote apoptosis in different types of cancer. As a conclusion of the article, it is presented that Trametes Versicolor, being an ancestral medicine from Japan, could represent a promising therapeutic option in the treatment of different types of cancer, offering a natural and effective alternative that allows improving the quality of life of patients while reducing the incidence of the side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
