Since Jean Jaurès visited Argentina in 1911, their ide-as had increasing reception in the Argentine socia-lism: after his death, it would be his figure of «demo-crat» the one that agglutinated an ampler horizonthan the Socialist. The idea of an ethical socialism,as philosophical translation of a way to understandthe socialism as a reformist practice, stays adheredto the thought of Jaurès, and is retaken by an inte-llectual like Alejandro Korn. This one, towards theTwenties, interprets in retrospective key the deve-lopment of the Argentine socialism under such phi-losophical seal, locating Juan B. Justo as its emblem. It turns out interesting to contrast this reading withthe judgments of Juan B Justo: about Jaurès, and aboutthe topic of the ethical socialism. The divergence bet-ween Korn and Justo reveals more a difference in theunderstanding of the new times of the ideas, than asubstantial opposition about socialist doctrine.
