Given the imminence of the labor reform, in this short essay explores the most important elements of the proposed transformation. For this purpose, two theses are developed: the first related to the influence of the economic environment on the labor reform, in other words, the State strategy called “change of productive matrix” will determine the form of the work and the class of worker that the State promotes. The other thesis is related to the progress of the reforms, not in the sense of the dialogues between the workers organizations, employers and the State, but in the sense of the signals of what will be the new Labor Code, which can be identified in multiple secondary rules that have been issued over the years by the executive power either as Ministry of Labor Relationships or as President of the Republic.
