Assisted human reproduction techniques are characterized by the application of a series of procedures of controlled manipulation of gametes (eggs and sperm) and/or embryos in highly specialized laboratories, necessary to carry out intrauterine insemination (IUI) and in vitro fertilization (IVF). The purpose of this paper is to analyze the regulatory framework within which the use of assisted human reproduction techniques could be authorized and the legal inheritance implications of carrying out the gestation of a person after the death of a person who could later be considered his or her ascendant.
