This study analyzes technology as a material infrastructure that exacerbates digital colonialism and climate injustice. It aims to demystify the immateriality of the “cloud,” revealing it instead as a planetary apparatus that deepens the Global South’s dependency. Through a qualitative approach involving document audits and the mapping of biophysical data, the study demonstrates that technological development in the Global North relies on the hyper-exploitation of the periphery. It concludes that climate justice requires establishing biophysical limits on computing and ensuring territorial technological sovereignty.
