Colombia
Colombia is an international benchmark in the processes of comprehensive reparation for victims of the armed conflict, a responsibility that falls to the Colombian State with the support of the affected communities. This article aims to present a review of the progress made in collective reparation and symbolic reparation carried out by the Colombian State following the signing of the peace agreement with the FARC. We focus on a qualitative documentary review design of academic articles, which allows us to identify conceptual developments triangulated with reports issued by the Victims’ Unit in order to verify the different actions and programs implemented by the Colombian State. The article concludes by highlighting the financial and contextual difficulties in achieving comprehensive reparation when the conflict and its underlying causes persist, while also recognizing state efforts and access to reports such as those produced by the National Center for Historical Memory and the Truth Commission, which in themselves constitute acts of symbolic reparation.
