Este texto analiza la relación entre el gobierno de Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), de 2018 a 2024, y los empresarios a la luz de su objetivo de separar el poder político del económico. Desde la campaña de su primera candidatura en 2006, así como en las de 2012 y 2018, y tras su elección, AMLO identificó que el eje central de su proyecto de izquierda sería la separación entre ambos poderes, con lo cual el gobierno pasaría a estar a favor de la mayoría de los mexicanos y no de una minoría “rapaz”. Con esto como punto de partida, y dado que ningún presidente en la historia democrática de México había iniciado su mandato con tanto poder y legitimidad después del triunfo contundente en el que obtuvo 53.19% del voto, en el artículo se formulan y examinan las siguientes preguntas: ¿cómo cambió esta relación entre los poderes político y económico en comparación con los sexenios anteriores?, ¿por qué fue ello posible?, ¿permitió esto una política económica distinta? De ser así, ¿en qué sentido? ¿Logró AMLO la supremacía del poder político sobre el económico?
This text analyzes the relationship between the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) from 2018 to 2024 and business leaders in light of his goal of separating political power from economic power. Since his first campaign in 2006, as well as those in 2012 and 2018, and after being elected, AMLO identified that the central axis of his leftist project would be the separation of both powers, whereby the government would be in favor of the majority of Mexicans and not of a “rapacious” minority. Starting from here, and given that no president in Mexico’s democratic history had begun his term with such power and legitimacy after a resounding victory in which he obtained 53.19% of the vote, the article formulates and examines the following questions: How did this relationship between political and economic power change compared to the previous six-year terms? Why was this possible? Did this allow for a different economic policy? And, if so, in what sense? Did AMLO achieve the supremacy of political power over economic power?
