En un contexto cambiante y de transformación de la industria audiovisual española tras la irrupción de las plataformas VOD, la presente investigación tiene como objeto de estudio la presencia del cine español en la plataforma Netflix. Busca así realizar una radiografía reciente (2024) y elaborar un análisis sobre el estado de la cuestión del cine español en esta plataforma mayoritaria. Para ello se ha realizado un análisis del catálogo de Netflix prestando especial atención a aspectos como las características de producción de cada filme o la brecha de género en el apartado creativo, entre otros. Esto permite obtener un análisis descriptivo y crítico sobre la situación de la filmografía española en la plataforma. Utilizando un método mixto, cuantitativo y cualitativo, la investigación posibilita obtener conclusiones sobre la naturaleza y la tipología del cine español en Netflix. Entre ellas, destaca el elevado número de títulos encontrados, mayoritariamente situados en la última década, la variedad temática y las mayoritarias narrativas de ficción, junto con un sistema de catalogación que visibiliza y promueve el cine español.
In a context of change and transformation in the Spanish audiovisual industry following the emer-gence of VOD platforms, this research aims to study the presence of Spanish cinema on the Netflix platform. In this way, it seeks to carry out a recent radiography (2024) and to provide a state of the art review of Spanish cinema on this major platform. To this end, an analysis of the Netflix catalogue has been carried out, with particular attention paid to aspects such as the production characteristics of each film or the gender gap in the creative section, among others. This allows us to obtain a descriptive and critical analysis of the situation of Spanish filmmaking on the platform. Using a mixed quantitative and qualitative method, the research enables conclusions to be drawn about the nature and typology of Spanish cinema on Netflix. These include the high number of titles found, mostly set in the last decade, the thematic variety and the majority of fiction narratives, together with a cataloguing system that makes Spanish cinema visible and promotes it.
