Recientemente hemos leído la noticia del suicidio de un adolescente, discutiéndose si fue inducido por el sistema de inteligencia artificial Chatgpt. Esta noticia nos invita a plantearnos el papel que estamos asignando a la IA en la actualidad, especialmente a los llamados LLM (Large Language Models). La utilización que se está danto a dichos sistemas no es solamente instrumental, sino que se aprovecha su capacidad decisional para, cada vez más, tenerlos como sustitutos del trabajo mental humano. Los problemas, como destaca el artículo, pueden producirse sobre todo en el ámbito de las interacciones sociales, en el que diariamente vemos cómo se está sustituyendo a los seres humanos por inteligencias artificiales como interlocutores válidos. Esta sustitución desconoce, sin embargo, la absoluta falta de humanidad del operador cibernético, cuyos resultados pueden ser completamente tóxicos.

This news invites us to consider the role we are currently assigning to AI, especially to so-called LLMs. These systems are not only being used instrumentally; their decision-making capacity is increasingly being exploited to substitute for human mental work. The problems, as the article highlights, can arise especially in the realm of social interactions, where we daily see how humans are being replaced by artificial intelligence as valid interlocutors. This substitution, however, ignores the absolute lack of humanity of the cyber operator, the results of which can be completely toxic.
