Este estudio se concentra en el análisis y reflexión de las diversas interpretaciones conceptuales que la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos, a través de sus fallos, ha referido en torno al ejercicio y desarrollo de la democracia en el contexto latinoamericano. De esta forma, veremos desde un inicio que el propio concepto de democracia exige una serie de precauciones conceptuales. No obstante, consideramos posible analizar algunos estándares que el Tribunal supraconstitucional ha determinado para el ejercicio democrático. Sin que ello signifique, una discusión terminada.
This study focuses on the analysis and reflection of the various conceptual interpretations that the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, through its rulings, has referred to regarding the exercise and development of democracy in the Latin American context. Thus, we will see from the outset that the very concept of democracy requires a series of conceptual precautions. Nevertheless, we consider it possible to analyze some standards that the supra-constitutional court has determined for the democratic exercise. This does not mean, however, that the discussion is over.
