Los acontecimientos recientes que han asolado al Medio Oriente hacen necesario explorar las principales acciones que han marcado el primer año de la política exterior del gobierno de Claudia Sheinbaum hacia la región, con especial atención en los ámbitos comercial y multilateral. En ambos casos, destacan las relaciones con Israel y con las monarquías del golfo Pérsico. El análisis preliminar muestra que los factores internos determinaron el discurso y la práctica de los posicionamientos hacia esa región, en el marco de la evolución de la relación con Estados Unidos y la reconfiguración del sistema regional del Medio Oriente.
Recent developments in the Middle East make it necessary to explore the main actions that have characterized the first year of Claudia Sheinbaum’s administration’s foreign policy toward the region, with special attention to the commercial and multilateral spheres. The relations with Israel and the Persian Gulf monarchies stand out in both. A preliminary analysis shows that internal factors determined the discourse and practice of positions toward that region, in the framework of the evolving relationship with the United States and the reconfiguration of the Middle East’s regional system.
