This study draws on the theory of journalistic routines and investigative journalism. From a qualitative and interpretive approach of an inductive nature, in-depth interviews with journalists from digital investigative media were analyzed. The findings identify criminalization, surveillance, information opacity, and intimidation of sources, which have led to editorial adjustments, changes in the use of sources, and defensive routines to sustain publication.
