This paper, by listing Badiou’s conceptual framework for a philosophical understanding of the Twentieth Century, aims to highlight the author’s conception of philosophy, based on the systematic and inseparable link between event, subject, truth, and neutral ontology. In this sense, the period in question is characterized by a “passion for the real,” whose dispute, necessarily of a theoretical-practical nature, passes through the sign of Two, that is, of opposition, yet providing an opportunity for the manifestation of subtractive thought, of the order of the event.
