Más allá de los esfuerzos que tanto México como el resto de los países latinoamericanos han realizado para impulsar una política exterior feminista, hay por lo menos dos condicionantes geopolíticas que tienen efectos importantes sobre las mismas: por un lado, la adhesión de la región al orden liberal internacional y, por el otro, su pertenencia al Sur global. Esas dos condicionantes explican tanto las semejanzas como las diferencias con respecto a las políticas exteriores feministas del Norte.
Beyond the efforts of both Mexico and the rest of the Latin America countries to promote a feminist foreign policy, there are at least two geopolitical factors that have important effects on them: on the one hand, the region’s adherence to the international liberal order and, on the other, its belonging to the global South. These two conditions explain both the similarities, as well as the differences, with respect to the feminist foreign policies of the North.
