Although the study of ethic, moral and virtues is a central theme in philosophy, it is also an object of study in other fields of knowledge, such as theology and psychology. The purpose of this study is to conduct a comparative analysis of concepts related to character and human vir-tues from philosophical, psychological, and theological perspectives, highlighting points of convergence and divergence among them. The text includes discussions on morality, ethics, and virtues from the perspective of Islamic philosophy and Islamic psychology, contrasting these with the conceptions of positive psychology—an emerging field that also focuses on this subject but from a secular perspective. This study concludes that interdisciplinary discussion on this topic is not only relevant but can also provide significant contributions to philosophical thought, religious studies, and the field of psychology.
Embora o estudo da ética, moral e virtudes seja um dos temas centrais da filosofia, esse tam-bém é um objeto de estudo de outras áreas do conhecimento como a teologia e a psicologia. A proposta desse estudo é realizar uma análise comparativa dos conceitos relacionados ao caráter e às virtudes humanas, sob a ótica filosófica, psicológica e teológica, apontando pontos de convergência e divergência entre elas. O texto inclui conteúdos sobre moral, ética e virtudes na perspectiva da filosofia islâmica e da psicologia islâmica contrastando com as concepções da psicologia positiva, campo emergente que também se dedica a esse objeto de estudo, porém sob uma perspectiva secular. Constata-se a partir desse estudo que a discussão interdisciplinar acerca dessa temática, além de relevante, pode proporcionar importantes contribuições para o pensamento filosófico, para as ciências da religião e para o campo da psicologia.
