En el contexto de la dictadura en Chile (1973-1990), los artistas exploraron las posibilidades abiertas por el videoarte. A través de distintas herramientas tanto técnicas como conceptuales, estéticas y narrativas, los creadores se enfrentaron al reto de construir un lenguaje que pudiera decir lo indecible y a la vez escapar de la censura impuesta por el régimen militar.
Within the context of the dictatorship in Chile (1973-1990), artists explored the possibilities unlocked by video art. Using several technical, conceptual, aesthetic, and narrative tools, artists faced the challenge of constructing a language that could express what was unutterable while eluding the military imposed censorship.
