Information is the construction of meaningful elements capable of expanding understanding of an object or phenomenon, and is responsible for the construction of knowledge. Its application is inherent to interaction, which takes place in the mind through stages of cognition. The objective of this research is to analyze some theoretical foundations related to documentary analysis to understand how language contributes to semantic construction and how the cognitive processes resulting from this interaction influence the representation and organization of information. To this end, a qualitative, exploratory methodology was applied, as it sought to explore the theoretical foundations of the applied framework in order to establish a correlation; therefore, it constitutes bibliographic researchof an interdisciplinary nature. The elaboration of specialized language is the result of a semantic-cognitive process, since the elaboration of a documentary language involves several factors that contribute to semantic construction, which are both results and generators of cognitive aspects. When dealing with information and knowledge, the mediation of language is necessary, because, through the sign and social interaction, it is capable of generating cognition and updating knowledge.
A informação é a construção de elementos significativos, capazes de ampliar a compreensão acerca de um objeto ou fenômeno, sendo responsável pela construção do conhecimento. Sua aplicação é inerente à interação, que se efetiva na mente por estágios de cognição. É objetivo desta pesquisa analisar alguns fundamentos teóricos relacionados à análise documentária para compreender como a linguagem contribui na construção semântica e como os processos cognitivos decorrentes dessa interação influenciam na representação e na organização da informação. Para tanto, aplicou-se uma metodologia de natureza qualitativa, do tipo exploratória, já que buscou explorar fundamentos teóricos do referencial aplicado a fim de estabelecer uma correlação, por isso configura-se uma pesquisa bibliográfica, de caráter interdisciplinar. A elaboração da linguagem especializada é resultado de um processo semântico-cognitivo, pois a elaboração de uma linguagem documentáriaenvolve diversos fatores que contribuem na construção semântica, os quais são resultados e geradores de aspectos cognitivos. Ao se tratar de informação e conhecimento, é necessária a mediação da linguagem, pois, através do signo e da interação social, é capaz de ser geradorada cognição e atualizar o conhecimento.
