El objetivo de este trabajo es presentar el origen de la filosofía actual de la ciencia en España. Destaco en primer lugar algunos de los contactos de la comunidad filosófica española con la filosofía de la ciencia, o filosofía de las ciencias, como también se la conocía, de la época. En segundo lugar, presento el desarrollo internacional de esta disciplina, en los primeros años treinta del siglo pasado, enfatizando su anclaje histórico, su despegue en el marco austroalemán de la época, las circunstancias del momento y su resiliencia. De vuelta a España destaco en tercer lugar el papel decisivo que jugó el Simposio de Burgos de 1968 reivindicando la figura de Karl Popper.
The aim of this paper is to fully address three issues that explain the origins of the current philosophy of science in Spain. Firstly, I highlight some of the first contacts of the Spanish philosophical community with the philosophy of science, or philosophy of the sciences, as it was also known, of the time. Secondly, I present the international development of this discipline in the early 1930s, highlighting its historical roots, its rise in the Austro-German framework of the time, the circumstances of the time and its resilience. Returning to Spain, I would like to highlight the decisive role played by the Burgos Symposium of 1968 vindicating the figure of Karl Popper.
