This study uses content analysis to identify the most widely used digital channels and to characterise not only permanent publications (posts) but also ephemeral (stories) from the 674 commercial and brand creations posted on Instagram by the 12 most relevant fashion jewellery brands (PdPaola, Pandora, Tiffany & Co, Tous, Suot Studio, Marta Vaquerizo Jewelry, Bvlgari, Rabat, Kidult, Cartier, Durán y Van Cleef) during the promotional campaign for 14 February 2024, Valentine’s Day, a date that is relevant from a commercial, advertising, and consumer perspective, specifically from 31 January to 18 February. Likewise, the engagement obtained is calculated and compared, while studying the interaction sought by the brands, the most promoted products, as well as the differentiation and association in relation to the presence of women and men and the type of content most used. The most commonly used strategies, formats and resources are identified, and the use of influencers by brands is characterised. It is striking that there is a lack of advertising identification in their content, that at this time of year there are no competitions or prize draws among followers, but rather promotions, and that women continue to be used as the main protagonists, especially in promoting rings, a symbol of love.
