El trabajo analiza la resistencia y recuperación económica de la Región Rosario en relación con la nación ante la crisis de 2017-2020, que comprende los efectos negativos del COVID. El estudio adopta el enfoque de resiliencia económica regional, entendida como la capacidad de resistir y recuperarse ante shocks. El principal hallazgo es que la región fue más resiliente que el país durante la última crisis. Su estructura productiva, muy ligada al sector agroexportador, actuó como amortiguador a diferencia de crisis anteriores, donde su relación con el exterior la hacía muy vulnerable.
This paper analyses the economic resistance and recovery of the Rosario in comparison with the rest of the nation during the 2017–2020 period, which includes the negative impact of COVID-19. The study adopts the framework of regional economic resilience, understood as the ability to withstand and recover from adverse shocks. The main finding is that the region proved to be more resilient than the country as a whole during this recent crisis. Its productive structure –closely linked to the agro-export sector– acted as a buffer, unlike previous crises in which its external economic ties heightened its vulnerability.
