La Comisión Europea (CE) ha hecho públicas diferentes iniciativas que demuestran que está trabajando en planes para reducir drásticamente sus normas sobre el mundo digital. Así lo demuestran, entre otras cosas, algunos documentos que han sido publicados recientemente y que muestran la voluntad de plantear una iniciativa legislativa que afectaría esencialmente a la normativa de Protección de Datos y a la regulación en materia de Inteligencia Artificial. Cabe resaltar que esos documentos muestran que esta iniciativa podría suponer una reducción del nivel de protección de los ciudadanos en materia de Protección de Datos y de derechos de los consumidores. En el Parlamento Europeo y en la sociedad civil se está formando una resistencia masiva contra esta medida.
