Este artículo presenta los resultados de una investigación donde se analizan las ferias científicas como estrategia para el desarrollo de habilidades investigativas en estudiantes de educación media general en una institución educativa del municipio Libertador, Mérida. Bajo un enfoque cualitativo, paradigma interpretativo y diseño descriptivo, se recolectó la información mediante entrevistas semiestructuradas y observación en dos ferias realizadas en la institución. Los participantes fueron estudiantes de educación media general. Los datos se sistematizaron y analizaron mediante cuadros comparativos, identificando habilidades investigativas antes y después de participar en las ferias, se presenta un cuadro que refleja la forma de organizar una feria científica con aportes de docentes promotores de estos eventos. Se concluye que estas ferias fomentan la indagación, el análisis y la comunicación científica estudiantil.
This article presents the results of a research study analyzing science fairs as a strategy for developing research skills in secondary school students at an educational institution in the Libertador municipality of Mérida. Using a qualitative approach, an interpretive paradigm, and a descriptive design, data was collected through semi-structured interviews and observation at two science fairs held at the institution. Participants were secondary school students. The data were systematized and analyzed using comparative tables, identifying research skills before and after participation in the fairs. A table is also presented that reflects how to organize a science fair, incorporating input from teachers who promote these events. The study concludes that these fairs foster inquiry, analysis, and scientific communication among students.
