En Argentina, las actividades extractivas, el acaparamiento de los comunes y la transformación territorial está generando la expulsión de una parte de sus poblaciones. Dichas transformaciones producen modificaciones en los modos de vivir y producir estos paisajes, además de cambios en el ambiente y el clima. A través de la sistematización y análisis de diferentes fuentes documentales –obtenidas de diversos trabajos de campo e historias de vida, pero también del estudio de estadísticas, censos agropecuarios, poblacionales, mapas, informes técnicos y notas periodísticas– nos proponemos analizar las transformaciones territoriales e impactos ambientales generados a raíz de la expansión de actividades extractivas en espacios habitados por comunidades indígenas y campesinas, que causan –muchas veces– la migración de integrantes de dichas poblaciones. Asimismo, buscamos describir las trayectorias que obligaron a estas poblaciones a migrar y las condiciones de habitabilidad en las cuales tuvieron que asentarse, profundizando las desigualdades y vulneraciones existentes. Este trabajo se presenta como una propuesta para abordar la problemática aquí referida que, actualmente, no es parte de la agenda gubernamental argentina y, por tanto, no se planifican políticas tendientes a mitigar las consecuencias y conflictividades emergentes. Para ello nos centraremos en analizar casos correspondientes a la Región del Norte Grande y la Región Metropolitana de Buenos Aires, dado que son los territorios donde venimos desarrollando nuestras investigaciones y trabajos de campo.
In Argentina, extractive activities, the grabbing of the commons and territorial transformation are leading to the expulsion of part of its populations. These transformations produce modifications in the ways of living and producing these landscapes, as well as changes in the environment and climate. Through the systematisation and analysis of different documentary sources –obtained from diverse fieldwork and life histories, but also from the study of statistics, agricultural and population censuses, maps, technical reports and journalistic notes– we aim to analyse the territorial transformations and environmental impacts generated as a result of the expansion of extractive activities in spaces inhabited by indigenous and peasant communities, which often cause the migration of members of these populations. We also seek to describe the trajectories that forced these populations to migrate and the conditions of habitability in which they had to settle, deepening existing inequalities and violations. This paper is presented as a proposal to address the problem referred to here, which is currently not part of the Argentinean governmental agenda and, therefore, no policies are planned to mitigate the consequences and emerging conflicts. To this end, we will focus on analysing cases corresponding to the Norte Grande Region and the Metropolitan Region of Buenos Aires, given that these are the territories where we have been carrying out our research and fieldwork.
