El propósito del presente artículo es mostrar los principales aspectos relacionados con el poder, enmar-cados en el pensamiento gnoseológico de Ernesto Mayz-Vallenilla, hombre de gran prosapia filosófica. La in-vestigación es de carácter documental, pues, descansa en una revisión bibliográfica de sus principales obras. Lacuestión delafán de poder, comoraíz de la técnica, es una de las aristas que nuestro autor aborda ampliamente eintenta bosquejar una ética frente al uso incontrolable por el hombre de los instrumentos de la técnica. Ésta, encuanto constituye un producto dirigido por la Razón, tiene su origen en lo que nuestro autor llama “subjetividadtrascendental”. Interesa destacar que sea cual fuere la modalidad que asuma el afán de poder, debe existir una re-lación entre dos o más términos, éstos son el agente emisor y el agente receptor. Si las condiciones se dan, elagente emisor logra el dominio sobre el agente receptor, lo cual da lugar alcumplimiento del mandato, es decir,el dominio se revela comoobedienciapor parte de este último al cumplirse la orden.
The purpose of this article is to show the principle aspects related to power, framed in the gnosiologicalthought of Ernesto Mayz-Vallenilla, a man of great philosophical ancestry. The research is of a documentarycharacter, because it rests on a bibliographical review of his principle works. The question ofthirst for power,astheroot of technology, is one of the thorny problems that our author takes on at great length and tries to sketch anethic in the face of man’s uncontrollable use of the instruments of technology. This, as it constitutes a product di-rected by Reason, has its origin in what our author calls “transcendental subjectivity.” It is interesting to high-light that whatever modality the thirst for power might assume, a relation between two or more terms should ex-ist: these are the emitting agent and the receiving agent. If the conditions are given, the emitting agent achievesmastery over the receiving agent, giving way tofulfillment of the mandate;that is, mastery reveals itself asobe-dienceon the latter’s part when complying with the order.
