Questo saggio si propone di approfondire, sul piano pratico-antropologico, la teoria della priorità dell’atto rispetto alla potenza. Il punto di partenza è rappresentato da alcune riflessioni sulla ‘problematicità del divenire’ offerte da Enrico Berti nel terzo capitolo della sua Introduzione alla metafisica. L’analisi mira a verificare la solidità della tesi aristotelico-tomista secondo cui l’atto costituisce l’oggetto proprio della facoltà desiderativa. In chiusura, saranno delineate alcune implicazioni filosofico-politiche di tale tesi.
This paper examines the theory of the priority of actuality over potentiality from a practical-anthropological perspective. It takes as its starting point Enrico Berti’s reflections on the “problematic nature of becoming”, as set out in the third chapter of his Introduction to Metaphysics. The analysis will evaluate the strength of the Aristotelian-Thomistic thesis that actuality is the proper object of the desiderative faculty. Finally, the paper will explore the philosophical and political implications of this thesis.
