Los profesionales del Periodismo y de la Comunicación tienen que investigar e informar sobre noticias que presentan aristas de naturaleza jurídica. Partiendo de dicha realidad, este artículo analiza en qué medida los Grados y Postgrados de Periodismo y Comunicación Social ofrecen formación jurídica y, más concretamente, enseñan Derecho extranjero y Derecho comparado. España y Colombia son los países escogidos para estudiar sus respectivos sistemas universitarios, aunque las reflexiones de fondo que ofrece este trabajo se consideran extrapolables a otros contextos geográficos. El artículo también incursiona en contextos formativos adicionales, como la educación continua, con el fin de evaluar si este tipo de herramientas son óptimas para facilitar la tarea profesional de los periodistas y comunicadores que entran en contacto de facto con el Derecho extranjeroy comparado.
Journalism and Communication professionals must investigate and report on news that contain legalaspects. Based on this reality, this article analyzes the extent to which Journalism and SocialCommunication undergraduate and postgraduate degrees offer legal training and, more specifically, teach foreign and comparative law. Spain and Colombia are the countries chosen to study their respective university systems, although the reflections offered in this paper may also be extrapolated to other geographical contexts. The article also ventures into additional training contexts, such as continuing education, in order to assess whether this type of tool is optimal for facilitating the work of journalists and communicators who come into contact with foreign and comparative law in theirprofessional practice.
