El objetivo de este artículo es contribuir a la reconstrucción de los hechos vinculados al funcionamiento de las Unidades Permanentes de Justicia (UPJ) en Colombia a través del estudio de caso de la UPJ de Puente Aranda en la ciudad de Bogotá D.C. Para la elaboración de este estudio tomamos como fundamentos teóricos los trabajos desarrollados en el campo criminológico sobre la discrecionalidad y la selectividad de la actividad policial y del sistema de justicia. La metodología de esta investigación es cualitativa. Realizamos entrevistas a personas que fueron detenidas en ese lugar.
