Los/as historiadores/as de lo judío se han encontrado con dificultades para analizar la presencia judía en América Latina en el período tardo-colonial y revolucionario-independentista. Este trabajo se propone identificar cuáles fueron esas dificultades y problemáticas; así como, también, brindar coordenadas teórico-metodológicas que permitan analizar la presencia judía en el período en cuestión. Para ello, desde la perspectiva de redes intelectuales y el análisis de contenido, se reconstruirá la vida y obra de Günter Böhm y Boleslao Lewin, sus trayectorias individuales, su pertenencia a redes intelectuales, sus posicionamientos historiográficos y los temas y períodos abordados por los historiadores. También, se hará hincapié en las dificultades encontradas por los autores para analizar la presencia judía en el período en cuestión y se sistematizarán las coordenadas teórico-metodológicas brindadas por Gunter Böhm, Boleslao Lewin, José Toribio Medina y Haim Avni para el estudio de la temática.
Historians of Jewish history have encountered difficulties in analyzing the Jewish presence in Latin America during the late colonial and revolutionary-independence periods. This paper aims to identify these difficulties and problems and to provide theoretical and methodological frameworks that allow for an analysis of the Jewish presence in this period. To this end, from the perspective of intellectual networks and content analysis, the life and work of Günter Böhm and Boleslao Lewin will be reconstructed, along with their individual trajectories, their membership in intellectual networks, their historiographical positions, and the themes and periods they addressed. Emphasis will also be placed on the difficulties the authors encountered in analyzing the Jewish presence in this period, and the theoretical and methodological frameworks provided by Günter Böhm, Boleslao Lewin, José Toribio Medina, and Haim Avni for the study of this topic.
