Analizo en este artículo las concepciones de la Justicia de la antigua Mesopotamia, el Antiguo Testamento y la Grecia Arcaica para buscar un sustrato común a las tres, y creo que puede hallarse en el principio de reciprocidad. A continuación, expongo cómo la reciprocidad es un mecanismo de mantenimiento de la cooperación social cuyo funcionamiento viene avalado por la Teoría de Juegos, la Antropología, e incluso la Primatología. Trataré de explicar la importancia que cobra este principio en sociedades urbanas complejas y cómo es utilizado en las modernas teorías de las Justicia para, finalmente, aproximarnos a su utilidad para definir la propia idea de Justicia.
In this paper, I analyse the conceptions of Justice in ancient Mesopotamia, the Old Testament, and Archaic Greece to seek a common substrate among the three, and I believe it can be found in the principle of reciprocity. Next, I explain how reciprocity is a mechanism for maintaining social cooperation, whose functioning is supported by Game Theory, Anthropology, and even Primatology. I will try to explain the importance this principle takes on in complex urban societies and how it is used in modern theories of Justice to, finally, approach its usefulness in defining the very idea of Justice.
