El presente artículo aborda el deterioro del conflicto entre israelíes y palestinos después del ataque protagonizado por Hamás el 7 de octubre de 2023. Examina cómo los odios y prejuicios entre ambas partes se han enconado, alejando la posibilidad de alcanzar aún más una paz duradera. Las caracterizaciones de los palestinos como terroristas e incondicionales de Hamás y de Israel como una potencia colonial ilegítima y “genocida”, esgrimidas en las narrativas respectivas aviva e infecta la disputa. El predominio de exaltados y recalcitrantes en los liderazgos respectivos atiza la guerra. Islamofobia y antisemitismo se refuerzan mutuamente dando lugar a una espiral sin fin. El trabajo plantea salidas posibles al laberinto del odio mutuo conducentes a la paz.
This article addresses the deterioration of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict following the attack carried out by Hamas on October 7, 2023. It ex-amines how hatred and prejudice between both sides have intensified, further distancing the prospect of achieving a lasting peace. The mutual characterizations —of Palestinians as terrorists and unconditional supporters of Hamas, and of Israel as an illegitimate and “genocidal” colonial power— present in the respective narratives, deepen and contaminate the dispute. The domi-nance of radical and recalcitrant figures in both leaderships exacerbates the war. Islamophobia and antisemitism mutually reinforce one an-other, giving rise to an endless spiral. The article proposes possible ways out of the labyrinth of mutual hatred that could lead to peace.
