Este artículo ofrece una revisión crítica y actualizada de las fuentes primarias disponibles para el estudio del Mandato Británico en Palestina. Frente a una historiografía condicionada por la disponibilidad y el control de los archivos, el trabajo propone expandir el catálogo de fuentes incorporando materiales visuales, narrativos y de cultura material, tradicionalmente relegados en los estudios sobre el periodo. Desde una perspectiva comparativa, el artículo facilita el acceso a colecciones digitalizadas y reúne una amplia bibliografía secundaria que permite sortear las limitaciones impuestas por las condiciones de acceso, la fragmentación y los silencios de los archivos, con el fin de ofrecer una aproximación al pasado que sea más rica, plural y multisensorial.
This article offers a critical and updated review of the primary sources available for the study of the British Mandate in Palestine. In response to a historiography shaped by the availability and political control of archives, the article proposes to expand the source base by incorporating visual, narrative, and material culture records that have traditionally been marginalized in studies of the period. From a comparative perspective, it facilitates access to digitized collections and compiles a wide range of secondary literature that helps to navigate the constraints imposed by archival access, fragmentation, and silences, in order to offer a richer, more plural, and multisensory approach to the past.
