El Estado-nación se impone en Latinoamérica a partir de la dominación de las sociedades originarias. El libro que se reseña, coordinado por Gaya Makaran y varios investigadores, tiene el objetivo de repensar el contexto latinoamericano desde la relación entre el Estado-nación y las sociedades indígenas. El texto posee elementos que enriquecen el debate actual y las múltiples formas de resistencia al interior de los Estados nacionales, al mismo tiempo apuesta por entender el contexto actual siempre diverso y cambiante. Las críticas emanan de la complejidad que significa pensar el carácter multisocietal latinoamericano y su construcción frente al Estado.
The nation-state is imposed in Latin America from the domination of the original societies. The book developed by Gaya Makaran and other authors aims to rethink the Latin American context from the relationship between nation-state and indigenous societies. The text has elements that enrich the current debate about the multiple forms of resistance in the national states, at the same time it is a bet to understand the current context always diverse and changing. Criticism results from the complexity of thinking about the Latin American multisociety character and its construction vis-à-vis the state.
