El estudio de la dignidad humana resulta de vital importancia en el contexto contemporáneo, donde el valor intrínseco de la persona continúa siendo desplazado por intereses económicos, científicos, políticos o religiosos que, con frecuencia, desatienden su dimensión más profunda. Esta situación se agrava con múltiples formas de violencia y deshumanización —como los conflictos armados, secuestros, narcotráfico, explotación laboral y políticas migratorias excluyentes— que reflejan un preocupante irrespeto por la vida humana. Ante este panorama, se hace imperativa una reflexión hermenéutica que permita interpretar y comprender no solo el valor del ser humano en sí mismo, sino también su relación constitutiva con el otro. El objetivo central de esta investigación es analizar la dignidad humana y la alteridad desde una lectura hermenéutica, con el propósito de profundizar en la comprensión de la condición humana y fomentar una convivencia basada en el reconocimiento y respeto mutuos. Para ello, se adopta un enfoque cualitativo de corte hermenéutico, que permite una interpretación crítica y reflexiva de diversas fuentes filosóficas. Se concluye que vivir en relación con los demás implica reconocer al otro como un fin en sí mismo, rechazando toda forma de instrumentalización. Cada persona posee un valor inherente que trasciende cualquier utilidad o posesión material, y que se fundamenta en una ética de la alteridad y la convivencia humana.
Studying human dignity is of vital importance in the contemporary context, where the intrinsic value of the person continues to be overshadowed by economic, scientific, political, or religious interests that often neglect their deeper dimension. This situation is further exacerbated by multiple forms of violence and dehumanization—such as armed conflicts, kidnappings, drug trafficking, labor exploitation, and exclusionary migration policies—which reflect a troubling disregard for human life. Considering this reality, a hermeneutical reflection becomes imperative, one that enables interpretation and understanding not only of the value of the human being, but also of their constitutive relationship with the other. The central objective of this investigation is to analyze human dignity and alterity through a hermeneutical lens, withthe aim of deepening the understanding of the human condition and fostering a coexistence grounded in mutual recognition and respect. To this end, a qualitative approach of hermeneutical orientation is employed, allowing for a critical and reflective interpretation of various philosophical sources. It is concluded that living in relation with others entails recognizing the other as an end in themselves, thereby rejecting any form of instrumentalization. Each person possesses an inherent value that transcends any form of utility or material possession and is grounded in an ethics of alterity and human coexistence.
